Dr. Andre Sobolewski, inventor of the carbonated tailings process

CEO

Dr Sobolewski is an entrepreneur with a PhD from the University of British Columbia. He brings a solid scientific background, the experience from founding two companies and operating a process development laboratory, and deep knowledge of the mining industry. He’s a practitioner - a doer, not an academic - and brings this sensibility to the company.

As CEO of Blue Skies Minerals, André will ensure the orderly commercialization and deployment of technologies developed by the company.

Dr. Silko Barth, co-founder of Blue Skies Minerals

CTO

Dr Barth is an experimental physicist with a PhD from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. He brings 13 years of experience in various leadership roles, including leading projects, teams, and a verification laboratory developing gas detectors and safety equipment for first responders and the oil&gas and mining industries. He is persistent, thinks in first principles, has a passion for making and creating things, and enjoys working with data and conducting experiments.

As CTO of Blue Skies Minerals, Silko will bring the Carbonated Tailings Process out of the lab and into the field.

Aldyen Donnelly, advisor to Blue Skies Minerals

Aldyen Donnelly

Aldyen is a senior economist specializing in carbon economics. She is the Co-Founder and Director, Carbon Economics at Nori LLC. She has a background in the design and development of greenhouse gas and renewable energy regulation and policies. She has advised Canadian Prime Ministers and business leaders of climate policies and carbon markets.

Aldyen advises Blue Skies Minerals on the emerging carbon markets and how the company can best engage in them. 

Mike Davies, expert in mining waste management and advisor to Blue Skies Minerals

Michael Davies

Dr. Davies is a senior civil/geological engineer specializing in the management of mining waste.  Currently a senior consultant, he is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia and former VP, Environment for Teck Resources.  He is the most recent past Board Chair of the International Network for Acid Prevention.   Throughout a career spanning nearly 40 years, Dr. Davies has spearheaded development of new waste management practices to decrease mining’s environmental impacts.

Mike will assist Blue Skies Minerals in the deployment and practical application of the CTP at mine sites.

Brian Meadows, advisor to Blue Skies Minerals

Brian Meadows

Mr. Meadows has over 25 years of experience in finance, accounting and business development in the telecommunications and food ingredient business. Brian has held several senior level positions including VP Business Development and Director of Operations at Telus. He also advised two start-ups that were eventually sold for $100-$500 million. Brian holds CPA (CMA) and CFA designations as well as an international MBA.

Brian acts as financial advisor and fractional CFO Blue Skies Minerals.

Blue Skies Minerals will develop the Carbonated Tailings Process in collaboration with several partners. We have secured Letters of Intent from several mining partners. We are also in discussions with Direct Air Capture suppliers to develop systems suitable for our process.
